ST PROSTITUTE is a Dutch band that I get the impression was influenced by the American 80's and 90's Glam and Hard Rock scene. So much so that quite a few songs seem to be inspired their tours of America. This is an album in a classic Hard Rock vein with a bucket load of energetic riffs and wailing guitars from start to finish.
Opening song should probably have been the finishing track with its title "Farewell And Goodbye" but is still I good rocker to start things off. The song "Red Car" has really cool groove that will have you pumping your fists high with its catchy sing along chorus and verses.
Fossy Korsholm has slightly gravelly vocals and with their grunty guitar sound that although with a style all their own is still very much BON JOVI and the 80's hair metal scene inspired. "City Lights" takes you to a night out in the big city while "LA Party" does what it says and tells you tales of LA RocknRoll lifestyle. This is a theme covered a lot on the album including tracks like "Dead By Rock n Roll"
"Scream" is my favourite song of the album rocking out at full pass and I can imagine live it would get the crowd going. I would say they are a great band to see live as this is an album filled with many sing along catchy tracks that wouldn't have gone amiss the stadium rock and Hard Rock era. The real song that ends this album "Such A Bliss" is a slow burner but is probably the more epic of the tracks which is probably why the end the album with this rather than the opening track which seemed more like a closer.
This is a great nod to the hair metal hero's that sparked the dreams of many a young person to pick up an instrument with the urge to Rock. As a child growing up in the 80's and 90's this was the kind of music that was the soundtrack for that era when petrol was cheaper and so was fun. The only problem with this is that they haven't really upgraded the formula so it does come across a little bland. It's pretty straight ahead but with the amount of originality in here you would have hoped for something a little bit more different and inventive.
If you love old school hard rock then this is the album for you.
