I'm going to start by saying that the album cover for this record makes me feel really quite uncomfortable every time I see it. The bloke just looks creepy. Musically this is a relatively decent lathering of Polish Hard Rock and Heavy Metal with some stoner influences thrown in too. The bands existed since 2003 but this is their first full length release to go with three Eps, the most recent of which was released in 2007. So it's fair to say the band have had ample time to hone and perfect their sound and style.

Essentially it's riffs, riffs and more riffs. It's quick and intense, with an aggressive vocal delivery, with three vocalists you would hope so. It's definitely kept a bit rough around the edges too, on their Facebook page they refer to their genre as street music, which may help set an impression what I'm getting at.

The musicianship is good all around really, and aside for the fact that the songs are very capable of blending into one, it's fine. "Mojra" is never going to be something I would regularly listen to, but every now and again if I felt like an easy dose of angsty Rock, then this would be as good as anything else.

One issue is that all songs are in Polish, which aside from making it harder for me, as the reviewer, to really get to grips with, but may also limit their international spread, which I think is unfortunate. SPONTANE are precisely the sort of band that would be great to see live in a dingy, underground pub or Rock club. You know the sort - sticky floor, cheap but disgusting beer and a collection of suspect looking regulars. But in general not a bad effort, time will tell on how they do, but on the basis of "Mojra" they're on the right road.
