If you dig the authentic/classic, yet still fresh Technical Thrash played in the great old fashion way, but requiring the exigeance of today's standard in terms of sonic rendition and performance...Well, I have something for you! Hailing from Belgrade, Serbia please let's welcome SPACE EATER, the newest addition to Pure Steel's roster of artists. I believe you will certainly enjoy this intriguing album weirdly titled "Passing Through the Fire To Molech", full of pride, intensity, and anger.
Despite their influences clearly rooted by Old School stuff like OVERKILL / DEATH ANGEL or DESTRUCTION, the dangerous Balkanic gang also possess a modern edge in their genuine melodic method ("Unjagged"/ "P.O.W." or "In Hospital"), they also displayed a particular taste for tortuous, epic, and ambitious tracks ("Passing Through the Fire To Molech" or "Exhibition of Humanity") overfilled by Sharp riffage/Ultra precise & challenging hi-octane rhythm section. The result is one of the fiercest album of the genre for 2014. "Exhibition of Humanity" also demonstrate a new found appetency for an extremist spirit built under a frantic Death Metal mode helped by a cast of guests!
I will call it the Fourth generation of Thrash Metal!
I wasn't totally convinced by the preceding release but this third album is mind blowing. The hyper dynamic production, the technically skilled musicians, the impulsive drumming, the palpable maniac bass chainsaw, and the Sharp Razor like guitar sound, the crowd backing vocals, all those fundamental elements are all set up in perfect combination in order to reveal this album as a true manifesto of Thrash Metal renaissance!
Beside the tightness, the faithfull honesty and the energetic Mosh-pit attitude spreaded all over the recording, their multi-faceted shouter/growler/screamer/ultra sonic squeaker Mr Luka Matkovic is the undeniable strongest asset of the band. Along with his guitar playing, he has mastered in a flawless manner, all the vocal styles with an easy going attitude and an impressive confidence in his vocal range!
If, like myself you are a Thrash Metal enthusiast, and if you feel the need to inject some harmonic subtility in your every-day-wrecking- neck-routine, this is the most interesting recording in the genre since the fabulous SHRAPNEL's "The Virus Conspires" published in February and the sublime "4:Rise Of The Mosh Mongers" by F.K.Ü. last year. The hot summer wind of Thrash is blowing from the East!
