Blind Progress

Soulbound's new EP Blind Progress starts off with something I didn't expect from a metal album. "Pulvis Adulatio" is an instrumental song, that at just over a minute and a half will definitely get a crowd's attention.
"Blind Progress" is the second track on the album and it is extremely well-produced. The vocalist syncs very well with the rest of the band to create perfect harmony. There was a pretty equal proportion of singing to yelling which I enjoyed. It built up the feel of the song and made me want to get up and move.
Looking for a song that is sure to make you want to headbang? "Break Away" is the tune you want. This was my favourite song on the EP, especially the chorus. The vocalist sings while a scream happens in the background. My only issue with this song, was it ended abruptly...however it could have just been a glitch on my copy.
"Towards The Sun" was my least favourite song on Soulbound's EP. As much as I enjoyed the opening guitar and drums, it was difficult for me to understand the yelling that preceded. However, I could picture a circle pit erupting the minute the vocalist started this song.
"Curse of Vanity (Live)" has a heavy hitting beat that is sure to get an audience out of their seats. The drums and guitars work extremely well together, however I liked the vocalist more when he was yelling on this track.
Soulbound's EP "Blind Progress" is an album that I think demands attention from fans. In my opinion, anyone who is still sitting at this band's live show will be an outcast. The songs are heavy, with extreme vocals and beats that ensure a mosh pit. I have no doubt that the full length CD will be a hit with many metal fans.
