Soul Doctor - Soul Doctor album cover

All right I admit it, I was sick, but now I'm cured, thanks to Soul Doctor. A band that combined marvelously the Melodic Rock of Fair Warning and the 80's Hard Rock of Bonfire. What else could I ask?
Soul Doctor, consist from experienced musicians. Vocalist, Tommy Heart was in V2 in the late 80's and for years he was the main-man of Fair Warning. Bassist J.D. was part of the finest German Hard Rock act of the 80's, Bonfire. Guitarist Chris Lyne and drummer Zacky also already worked professionally for years. This may look like another project, but the outcome shows an excellently tied band.
Soul Doctor's self titled debut album is full of catchy tunes, great melodies and killer riffs while Heart's voice is rawer than ever. The CD starts with the melodic but fast and heavy Soul Doctor that puts the mark on the bands sound. Shake'em On Down follows and it gets us back to the 80's Heavy Rock sound.
The mid-tempo Goodbye made it really hard for me to move on to the next song. I listened to it at least 10 times before I found the strength to say: OK, lets listen to the rest of the album now. A kind request to band: Next time put the fabulous songs at the end of the CD, cause when my mind gets blown up, I can't focus on the rest and that's unfair for such fine tunes.
Unspoken Words is another mid-tempo song with great guitar riffs while the ballads of the album, Before The Night Is Over and You're All That I Want, are so strong that noone can take them for cheesy love songs. The rest of the album can be considered as the definition of the words Hard Rock with the Emotion In Motion being the the best cure of bad mood and misery.
There's not much more to add, the intro of their site includes everything that is need to be said: Sick of depressive sound? Sick of complaint lyrics? Sick of people who preach life is bad? Sick of rock and roll diet? Soul Doctor!
