Summer is in our midst and festival season has begun; so what a better way to make it better with upbeat Alternative Rock that reminds you of previous summers you spend with your friends before going to different colleges and universities or whatever life direction you choose. A lot of those memories of summer often take place in the great outdoors where many believe that's where the true summer lies. The most recent album that will bring out this beautiful nostalgia is from British Alternative Rock piece SOLEY MOURNING and they are bring beautiful soulful vibes with their latest album "The Rocket Pool".

SOLEY MOURNING hail from Dudley, UK and they formed in 2006. They are currently one of the most talked about bands at the moment receiving extremely high praise from some of the most established magazines including Classic Rock. Since their formation they have been headlining gigs and festivals across the country, Belgium and Holland. After listening to this latest specimen it's easy to see way they are getting such elevated honor.

The first thing that is noticeable on the album is Mat Partidge's striking, affecting vocal work that can remind someone of either FALL OUT BOY's Patrick Stump and Soul vocalist Paolo Nutini. These are highlighted well in the tracks "Turn Yourself Around", "So Long Song" and my personal favourite "Seed Of Doubt". This mesmerizing voice accompanied well by the musical arrangements from the rest of the band, the flawless guitars and the subtle yet effective drum work, come together graciously to create this beautiful summery sound that will make even the hardest hearts beam with pride and reminisce about their yesteryears round this time of year.

Overall, this new album from the Alternative Rock quintet is a high recommendation if you love the glorious sounds of the past such as LED ZEPPELIN and BLACK SABBATH.

You won't be disappointed!
