Time To Rise
Social Disorder
Social Disorder - The project feat. Anders La Rönnblom (XRomance), Tracii Guns (LA GUNS), Leif Ehlin (PERFECT PLAN), Shawn Duncan (LA GUNS), David Stone (RAINBOW), Thomas Nordin and Rudy Sarzo (WHITESNAKE, OZZY etc.) that turned in to so much more! After the fantastic response, and incredible reviews around the world for the album "Love 2 Be Hated” released in 2021, they decided to record another record. However this time around everybody was much more involved in the new album this time around. The production was handled by Anders La Rönnblom, mixed by Marten Eriksson at Fan Club Production, where as the mastering was done by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers.
When established Hard Rock artists get together to form a Super Group or project I always find myself questioning whether the album be any good, how much of this was actually recorded together as a band or separately with the use of modern technology will they ever tour, will they get along will egos clash?. I must confess I have not listened to their first offering “Love 2 Be Hated” so this band are new to me.. The title track of the album “Time To Rise” starts with some hard, strong guitars riffs, strong vocals and backing vocals a great Hard Rock and Melodic start to the album .”High On Life” has a bluesy feel to it with the vocals, the Hammond Organ intertwining with the guitar riffs with soulful backing vocals a Rainbow, Whitesnake influence within this track I feel as does the next track “Going Blind” It has that 70's and 80's Classic Rock feel to it.
”Free Your Spirit” one of my favourite tracks on this album is a bit more chilled soulful with a gospel feel to the chorus with the backing vocals love the keyboards & Hammond with a bit of Harmonica thrown in for good measure very good. ”Forged In Fire” is next up a heavy sounding track as is “Stardust In Mirrors” with the latter having more of a groove to it fairly average tracks I thought, but then we come to “Last Call” and “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” two great tracks every instrument comes to the front of the mix at some point nice some bass grooves from Rudy Sarzo, Tracii Guns in his stride on the Guitar and also Thomas Nordin’s vocals are really good and showcases his vocal range. ”Dancing In The Rain” is the slowest track on the album a vocal highlight with again those beautiful gospel backing vocals, the piano, with a great guitar solo a superb track excellent musicianship “See What You Believe” closes the album another solid track musically and vocally.
“Time To Rise” all in all is a good album from a supergroup made up of six very experienced and talented musicians from some great bands I'm a fan of. The album has some great songs and a couple of ok songs. Will this group tour together? Or is it just a project only? It would be nice to see them do a tour just to see how they perform on stage together as a band, something super groups do not tend to do, but you never know it could happen. Worth a listening to and purchase to add to your collection.
