Slow Fall - Beneath The Endless Rains album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: SLOW FALL; signed via Inverse Records, hailing from Finnish grounds - performing Melancholic Melodic Death Metal, on their debut album entitled: "Beneath The Endless Rains" (released October 23rd, 2020).

Since formation in 2016; the quintet in question have only this here debut album in their discography so far entitled: "Beneath The Endless Rains", 9 tracks ranging at around 39 minutes... SLOW FALL arranges an intricately designed formula of some heavy-hitting Melancholic Melodic Death Metal developments.

Opening up with an acoustic but mellowful yet wistful strum within "Resonance;" until a blistering frenzy on amplified distortion, electric adrenaline & a flamboyantly epic riffing ramification that distils a harmonic attribute in atmospheric deathliness...SLOW FALL craft a chilling element on rip-roaring deadliness. "Across The Cold" ascends on trailblazing soars that revel with rhythmic melodies, skyrocketing with monstrously meaty yet punchline grooves & a crunchy dose on chiselling kicks that thunder with lacerating pursuits on gnarly firepower expertise. Weighty jumpiness clobber eardrums into a boisterous bombardment on bouncy calamities in which trigger with wildly rushing synergies, sulphurous solidities swift with nimble virtuosity & quintessential pandemonium...fuelling an arbitrary crescendo on sonically seamless mayhem while oscillating between a clean, but desolately high-pitched yell as consisting vocalist Markus Taipale brims a juxtaposed transition on deep guttural growls & raspy throatiness with full force.

"Exile The Day" unearths this razor-sharp thrill that merges impactful instrumentation on rumbling reverberation & dexterously dynamic resonance that manifests this meticulous but borderline foundation on uniquely versatile vehemence...where melodeath chunkiness gravitates towards monolithic tempos while shouty tightness, keyboard chimes and a hypnotic but bludgeoning array of bulldozing fretworks from Heikki Kakko & Juho Viinikanoja unleash this twinning attack, chugging and galloping with rapidly slaying perseverance that will rattle skulls in no time. "Under The Corroded Sky" outbursts with more organically orchestrated substance; volatile variety relentlessly fabricates a integral density on sturdy songwriting musicianship that embodies a flexible fundamental on rawly rough profanity mixing a fluidly polished panache on euphonic cords and extreme aggression, and a creatively complex formulaic as well while this progressively technical boundary in constructively experimental hybrids.

"Witnesses To The Fall Of Night" tempestuously rips with speedy velocity; rampant rompiness thuds with rambunctious piledriving from hammering drummer Aki Pusa, battering with profusely robust slams that stomp with steely precision & striking rollicks tread with this agrestal finesse. Audible bassist Markku Kerosalo (also keyboardist) injects an infectiously grinding aesthetic on venomously salubriously thumpiness, drilling a chiselling embodiment on radical immersivity. "Drown (Beneath The Endless Rains)" executes explorative avant-garde representation on strong yet somewhat mournful vocals which revolves around a healthy dose on some rich yet vibrantly quirky snappiness that will spellbind your soul with this stylish panache on tenaciously gripping fretwork expertise in brutal but concretely gritty distinctives that will portray this symbolic style on distinguished craftsmanship attributes.

"When The Sun's Collide" harnesses catchy extremities; where raging aggression, and killer but bruising potency relentlessly pulsates with intensely grindy oppression on rampaging stability while the penultimate track: "Tomorrow Is A Buried Hope" is armed to the brim in elegantly exquisite brutality. - fuelling a hostile but majestically mesmerising trial on sublime yet savage ethereality. Overall concluding "Beneath The Endless Rains" with the finale epic: "Everything Left With Nothing;" which materialises rugged mechanics with systematic singing solace, until more grandiose but groundbreaking remedies possess you to be entranced completely.

Bottom line; I am compelled to say that SLOW FALL certainly outdone themselves for a debut, an interesting fusion of melancholy culminating an enriching landscape on bulldozing Death Metal madness that will surprise you tenfold. "Beneath The Endless Rains" most certainly exceeded my original expectations for sure; the replayability value was spun with momentous enjoyability, a discovery in which was definitely deserving of that and everything within this record was just a sophisticated yet splendid experience for sure - most worthy of a listen & I look forward to their future endeavours...check it out. Masterclass stuff!
