Skyfire - Timeless Departure album cover

Skyfire were formed back in 1995 and after some lineup changes they created their only demo in Studio Powernest. Today the band is releasing their very impressive debut album named Timeless Departure.
If someone had asked me to put a label in what Skyfire play I would say power,black/death metal but still, there are more than these elements combined in this album such as progressive and doom metal, I mean musically Skyfire combines the aggression of Black/Death metal with catchy melodies . They also have some very progressive elements , lots of haunting guitar/keyboard leads, and all of these added together, form a very good mixture of metallic music. The band's main influences seems to be Children Of Bodom and even Rhapsody (believe it or not ) without meaning that they are a clone of the bands mentioned, a person from the metal scene of whom I cant recall the name once said No one owns the chords. So what if there are parts that remind you of another existing song, it doesn't matter as long as you like what you hear in the whole. Despite that Skyfire manage to create an atmosphere of their own.

Timeless Departure was recorded at the Abyss Studio (a.o Immortal, Dark Funeral, Marduk) therefore I don't think that I have to commend on the production which is very clear and accurate.
In general Timless Departure is an album combining speed, energy as well as catchy riffs and melodies making the listener interested in what he hears. I think that this power black album is an album that has all the qualifications to be considered as a classic of the kind in a few years.
