SKEPTICAL MINDS is a Female fronted Electro-Industrial-Metal band from Brussels in Belgium. Band was formed in 2002 and released EP "First Experiment", CD "Rent to Kill" in 2005, EP "The Beauty Must Die" in 2007, CD "Skepticalized" in 2010, EP "Living in a Movie" in 2013 and live CD "Run for Your Live!" on 18th October 2014. This is the second live release and the first one is the DVD / Blu-Ray "Watch Your Live" - recording of their performance on Metal Female Voices Fest (MFVF) VIII in 2010. The album "Run For Your Live" is a re-mix of the recording at MFVF X in 2012.
Opener "Inertia" has great, soaring vocals and nice symphonic echoes with great guitars and interesting sounds. Atmosphere is emphasised in "Skeleton Key" where Karolina invites fans to having fun with band. Impressive keys, electronic and beautiful gentle vocal of Karolina sounds nice atmosphere with working bass. Amazing is "Broken Dolls" with heavier riffs and special guest Iliana Tsakiraki where her Opera singing adds true killer sound. Also in this track you find punky drums and Industrial echoes. What a stunning keys inside electronic "Someone New" with slick bass, heavier riffs in Industrial Metal style and what a melting sound of singing with heavier riffs in the background.
I love "Rotten Fruit" with industrial electro sounds, keys, guitars in RAMMSTEIN style and voice with WITHIN TEMPTATION influences. Also ballad "Madness" with brilliant and gentle singing is loved by me with heavier riffs in the background and stunning keyboards, even opera vocals. Violins, very fascinating symphonics and madness with heavy riffs, electronic and fast drumming are in "Living in a Movie" where there is also awesome guitar soloing, including Opera elements, power, and energy.
Karolina Pacan has clear, pure and unique voice; she skillfully manipulates her voice and perfectly shows emotions. Stronger guitars with electronical sound sound amazing in "No Way Out" and fine sounding keys, a calmer vocal delivery and crazy sounds are in "Alcohol" and in "The Dictator" is gentle eternity vocal with electronic, heavier industrial sounds, RAMMSTEIN influences and amazing, oriental atmospherics.
I'm really nice surprised with this live album of SKEPTICAL MINDS. It is full of fan´s emotions, the true atmosphere of live concert and amazing music with many melodies and Indusrial Metal. I bet that every hard rock lover and fan of SKEPTICAL MINDS will listen with pleasure to their new concert album and it will bring beautiful memories to everyone who saw them on live on MFVF X in 2012.
