Serpents Unleashed

I wake up in the morning just to grab my cup of coffee and limp to my computer, then I saw an email from the almighty Metal Temple editor in chief himself, he wrote to me that he assigned me with the infamous blackened Thrash named SKELETONWITCH for a review. I'm like who? what? why? Kidding you of course. I have known these guys for some time now, they are the shebang, the boom in Metal. Hailing from Athens, Ohio, formed in 2003, released four albums prior to this new monster named, "Serpents Unleashed", via Prosthetic Records. No doubt that over the years this crew has been creating an impressive fan base, which has been growing.
On "Serpents Unleashed" SKELETONWITCH did what they have been doing best since their early chapters of their career. The mixture of pounding Thrash with the rawness of Black Metal is exponential. The riffing quality is excellent, tasty meaty stuff easy to digest, vocals are right on the spot providing an in your face grand slam, rhythm section is fairly tight with several diversities and of course the overhead sound engineering made this one crack in my face with ounces of power. Therefore, what more could I add to this release. Nothing here contradicted my early beliefs about the band and sure hell that it ain't going to change as long as this type of loosed material will be out and about, roaming and pillaging. Take a bite off this one and you won't be sorry.
