Chaos At The Mosh-Reactor
Skeleton Pit

I have always been a big fan of Teutonic Thrash Metal, so I was naturally excited to check out another band from Germany, and this one is SKELETON PIT, who released their debut full length album "Chaos At The Mosh-Reactor" last November. In addition to the album title and the artwork, just the name SKELETON PIT really intrigued me.
The album starts with a fast paced hard-hitting song in "Hit in the Pit". It has a bit of MUNICIPAL WASTE vibe to it, although I wouldn't call SKELETON PIT a Crossover Thrash band. The riffs are juicy and hair lifting and perfect for Thrash fans. "Spreading the Virus" sounds just a bit louder and the riffs get juicier and only remind me of the possible moshpits in the band's live shows. The vocals of Patrick Options are screaming and fast paced in nature. And when I say fast, I mean really fast, compared to most other Thrash Metal vocalists. The drum blast beats really give a feel good factor and add meat to the band's sound in addition to the insane guitar riffs. "Nuclear Thrash Mutants" is a chaotic song even as the guitar riffs by the vocalists Patrick himself, are really hair lifting and insanely catchy. The song hits the right spot between violent chaotic Thrash and catchy and moshy riffs.
"Target For Tonight" is about going rampage after a late night drinking party, and the vocals and the rest of the music do a great job at projecting the casual nature of the lyrics and remind me of MUNICIPAL WASTE again here. It's worth mentioning that the band doesn't lose its hold on the good riffs and does what's expected of a Thrash band; just play fast paced, face melting Thrash. "Drink Fast Or Die" starts off with some fast paced drum blast beats and that is joined by the chaotic guitar work, later churning out some great solos and add some cool backing vocals, you got some anthem out there. "Milling Drilling Killing" is almost like a Thrash rhyme, with the band churning out a Thrash attack of just under 3 minutes with some excellent backing vocals. "Terror Tentacle" goes along similar lines, occasionally reminding me of ONSLAUGHT. The weirdly named "Instant Asshole" is another ear crushing song as the hard-hitting riffs plummet your eyes and make you beg for more. "Iron Fist Punch Attack" talks about guns, violence and surprisingly even broomsticks! All this while still blasting hair-lifting riffs. The album ends with the cheekily named "Tits To Die For", and the song goes along similar lines of rest of the songs, but here the riffs are much faster than other songs, and there seems to be some casual comedy lyrics here too.
For a debut full length "Chaos At The Mosh-Reactor" is simply one crushing album, and SKELETON PIT has surely put itself into the Thrash pedestal and seasoned fans of Thrash should surely check this album out and I can't wait to see what these lads will bring out in future.<
