Sirocco

Now here's an interesting case. Sirocco sent me a full length album that contains instrumental music while in the booklet there were lyrics printed! Did they forget to include the vocalist's lines in the mix? No, ah, just kidding... Sirocco is indeed an instrumental band. Good news is that this is not another team of virtuoso players wanting to prove their skills with their instruments.
It's like listening to an Epic Metal band without vocals. Their songs' structures are those of traditional Heavy / Epic Metal. In general terms their songs are quite simple, but also catchy as hell, with lots of Folk elements and bombastic rhythms. Taking a look at the booklet I realized that this is a concept album based on true events in history.
With a really good production this one is at least interesting. However I would love to hear a voice a la Primordial sitting upon the songs, dominating everything. Also, at times I wanted this to be a bit heavier. It's really interesting to listen to this piece of work, but to be honest, I find this lack of vocal lines a bit bizarre.
