SIN SAVAGE is a Hard Rock / Heavy Metal band coming out of Belgium. The band was formerly known as NIGHTMARE BE that was founded in 2011 by Kristof Michiels, Zan Geeraerts and Jasper Vanderheyden. Vassili Golfidis then enters the band in 2013 as the drummer. After several gigs over the years, they have released their debut record "Dirt". A confluence of beautiful rhythmic, fast songs, incisive and sometimes brutal lyrics, interspersed with some softer moments. The album was mixed and mastered in the legendary Sierra Studio in Athens. They were accompanied by Akis Golfidis, who has years of experience with producing albums of many famous bands and artists. This year, they are offering an EP which would also serve as a foreshadow of their upcoming sophomore record.

This 4-track EP shows the path that the band would go through with their second album. And it appears, they would go with the same formula that they used in their debut record. The songs are filled with fast rhythms and beautiful melodies. For the most part, the songs contain hard and heavy stuff, with traces on NWOBHM bands like IRON MAIDEN and DIAMOND HEAD, but also has the grit of MOTORHEAD. That reference to MOTORHEAD might also be attributed to Zan himself because aside for the vibe of the songs, Zan sounds nearly exactly like Lemmy. All three songs "Lost in the Dark", "Hot on Your Wheels", and "Down to the Ground" have that intense, speedy and heavy vibe. On the other hand, the last song "Through the Gates" is the different one with its mid-paced tempo and more extensive and assertive guitar presence.

"Lost in the Dark" is a good set of four new songs from SIN SAVAGE. It has the sound of their well-received debut, but has decent attempts to venture new soundscapes. There's nothing too fancy, nothing too new or original, but it's truly an enjoyable album.
