Silent Force - Walk The Earth album cover

Alex Beyrodt is a well known guitarist by his collaboration with famous bands like PRIMAL FEAR and SINNER and if you find yourself in Japan you'll cross his name among the Great Guitar Heroes list. After the short-lived THE SYGNET project Alex decided to do something more and teamed up with the famous singer DC Cooper to form a new band under the name SILENT FORCE.

DC Cooper has been in the heart of every Metal fan since his work on the Power-meets-Progressive Metal of ROYAL HUNT (his performance in Moving Target is still unsurpassable). Much anticipation was built as soon as the news on this freshly formed band were announced, but in some extent the debut release The Empire Of Future in 2000 was a disappointment to all. The band presented straight forward Power Metal with DC Cooper screaming his lungs out greatly influenced by the rock god Rob Halford especially during the Painkiller era. This feeling of disappointment continued until Infatuator in 2001 and started to vanish when Worlds Apart saw the light of day in 2004. It was obvious that this line-up was still searching for a music identity. The promo release of Walk The Earth came to the Metal Temple headquarters to prove that this search has ended. The keyboards open for the first track Man & Machine that finally meets our expectations from this collaboration; Power Metal with Hard Rock passes and Progressive Metal finishing touches. The melody of Walk The Earth breathes besides DC Cooper's wonderful voice and then builds some tension with a really catchy chorus comprising some ROYAL HUNT influences. The keyboard driven track Point Of No Return is fast paced with staccato guitars and some all-time classic high pitched vocals from the master himself, while In From The Dark features some sophisticated guitar leads and solos that fit perfectly to the Progressive atmosphere built by Torsten's keyboards. The clean guitars add some Eastern air in the groovy The King Of Fools that is followed by the rocker The Child Within while DC Cooper says Goodbye My Ghost with his warm almost theatrical voice. The classic guitar and the low pitch vocals in Save Me From Myself justify the anticipation that was built when the formation of SILENT FORCE was announced. Next, are the mid tempo tracks My Independence Day and Running Through The Fire the melodic grooves of Blind Leading The Blind and the last but not least Power Metal rhythm guitar attack of Picture Of A Shadow.

So, go ahead and get this album because you will enjoy the result of the SILENT FORCE alliance with the power guitar leads, the melodic keyboard patterns and of course the vocal performance from the glorious ROYAL HUNT past. Lets hope that the band will continue with the renewed momentum from the brand new record deal with AFM Records and produce more albums sharing with us the love for Melodic Power Metal that is someway missing from the Metal scene.
