Sideburns - Too Loud album cover

If you like dirty, scuzzy, greasy, heavy, Bourbon-soaked, biker Rock and Roll, in the style of MOTORHEAD, MC5, ROSE TATTOO, then you will love this German Trio SIDEBüRNS. Formed in 2002 and playing and recording as MR SIDEBüRNS & The Barons, in 2015 they slimed down to their core essentials and SIDEBüRNS the trio were born.

This music is designed and engineered to party HARD too.  No compromise, no prisoners taken.  From the get go with "All Gone", the music is lean and fast, full on attitude.  "Fine Lines" grooves along powered by an almost danceable beat.  The Baroness' backing vocals are a nice touch to the track. Not quite as heavy, but still full of swagger. "Whiskey, Cigarettes & The Truth", dials up the attitude to 11 again.  Mr Sidebürn's growl is menacing, you can hear his lip curling as he sneers the chorus.  And man-o-man the guitar solo is un-be-fuckin-leavable.  This track is a punky as it gets.

Title track "Too Loud" tells a tale.  The slow Blues burn of the intro leads us into a story of the time the band played a show at a bikers club, where the band were told they were too loud (I know! How is that even possible!).  As it should be their response was "if you think we're too loud, you can get the fuck out". Watch the video for this track, it is spot on! Bikers, strippers, a bar fight, and good Rock and Roll, played loud, EXACTLY as I am sure MR KILMISTER would say it has to be.

Which leads us straight into "From Here On".  Punky as it should be, the bass into and killer riffs pound this one into your skull 'till it bleeds. "Mr SIDEBüRN", is skuzzed-up Rock and Roll, like the STRAY CATS on steroids, over before it begins, and as I love The R 'n' R played like this, it is one of my highlights of the album. "Got Burned" is a catchy rocker which reminds me of the TATTS, or Canada's THE WILD!, which really are not bad bands to be compared to.  One to dance around the living room to in there times of isolation.

"Hit You Like A Tank", does exactly what it says! It runs right over you, at speed, and then reverses back over you to make sure it's done the job properly. It will leave you in a bloody mess, as it should.

"Rock 'n' Roll Apocalypse", has an riff which reminds me of SABBATH playing "Hocus Pocus" by FOCUS and turning it into a hard rocking anthem.  No yodeling, you will be please to hear, but again the backing vocals are spot on.  The longest song on the album at over 7 minuets, but it doesn't feel nearly that long, but acts as a showcase for the 3 amazing musicians, by far the most "Metal" track in the collection, doesn't make it the heaviest, but is a brilliant way to end a fantastic album.

No gloom, no doom.  Just fist pumping, Jack drinking, hard partying good time heavy Rock and Roll. Which I for one can do with at this time!
