Sideburn - Electrify album cover

The history of the SIDEBURN goes back to the 80`s (but that`s another story). The SIDEBURN as we know originates from early 90`s, with recent lineup change. From the former line up remained singer Roland Pierrehumbert and drummer Lionel White. SIDEBURN hails from Switzerland with "Electrify" bringing the good old sound of Hard Rock.

The album opens with furious "Bite The Bullet", and continues in the same manner till "Black Powder" than tone it down for a bit with slower rhytm, and with "Mr. Clean" rises the atmosphere back again. It`s a good mixture of faster and more energetic tracks and slower but still rocking tracks. "Travellin` Man" brings the noticable Blues influence, while some Country music influence can be heard on "Bad Reputation" and "Destination Nowhere" that`s closing the album. Although you may hear the influences of AC/DC all over the album and ROSE TATTOO (especially on "Destination Nowhere"), even ANGEL CITY (on "Devil May Care" and "Bad Reputatuon") SIDEBURN brings all those influences nicely packed and arranged. "Electrify" really justifies the name, all tracks are quite energetic and filled with life. Guitar solos only add to the electricity. They are bursting with feelings and are quite catchy.

The SIDEBURN`s new release may not catch you on first listening, but sure will on second. If nothing else, you`ll catch yourself trying to figure out what bands had most influence on them. "Electrify" is not quite original by sound but sure is one of the quite interesting releases containing catchy songs with great performances, solid production and inevitable "dirty" sound.
