Shredhammer - Beyond Your Reach album cover

Introducing SHREDHAMMER, hailing from Germany this band has been gathering force, with blistering drums that would put many percussionists to shame, crushing dual guitar riffs and a heavy gritty sound, combined to make a true Heavy Metal racket.

Opening track "Tyrants End" sets the groovy pace for the rest of the songs, blending the pulse of Metal with a dirty Hard Rock sound and then some, the outcome is an enjoyable mix which steps back from clichéd Metal songs. The track that I was drawn to most was "Shredhammer" and for good reason. The intro sounds similar to "God Hates Us All" era SLAYER, kicking in to some blast beats and a short drum solo mid song. This track is their most rhythmically diverse ergo it stands out and hooked me in.

The only critique I have is that of vocalist Rnuld Friedrich, there is something that doesn't sit quite right, his vocals add a certain depth to the music, obviously, yet still has room for improvement I feel, especially in the higher toned sections when not using the usual harsh sound. Despite this only being a demo release it is well worth a listen. I jest you not, this is a band to be aware of and I am thoroughly awaiting a full album from these guys.
