Shatter Messiah

Coming all the way from Ohio, the band sweetly named SHATTER MESSIAH is about to release its new opus, their much anticipated and long awaited new album is the perfect way to introduce the fresh revised line up, and their up-dated sound enhanced with a fury of note in the true powerful American steel tradition. They are back and ready to deliver their sonic blast once again, with a still ferocious and aggressive attitude pushed by a spirit, full of vengeance. SHATTER MESSIAH is about to redefine how Power Metal's intensity and Progressive Metal's integrity can match and work together perfectly, in order to reach a higher level of technical values.
The ex-ANNIHILATOR / ex-NEVERMORE / ex-H.A.T.E. alumni, six strings maestro and founding member Curran Murphy is still a the helm of this combo (holding the Producer role too), with a sharp technic and a strong aptitude for shredding, in concordance with some natural obvious skills for brilliant song writing, the band new singer Mike Duncan (POWND) provides some of his best melodic capabilities in the most interesting way, somewhere between David Wayne (METAL CHURCH / REVEREND) and Warrell Dane (SANCTUARY).
Their early "Never To Play The Servant" in 2006 and the equally brilliant follow up album in 2007's "God Burns Like Flesh", were highly acclaimed and each album is still very recommended , both stands as a clear and precise example of what Progressive Thrash metal has become in the new millennium: Proud and fierce Chainsaw riffing in the real American way, embellished with an uncompromising Powerful, extremely talented and experienced staccato rhythmic section like a ruthless machine -composed by Jim Lewis (ex-ANTITHESIS) on bass and the ex-FIRES OF BABYLON drummer Robert Falzano and boosted by a ultra-high-tech virtuosity in the solo spots of Mr. Murphy, also performed by Pat Gibson, in an overwhelming level that only very few could match.
The 3rd work "Hail The New Cross", is a step forward to a more melodic and progressive styled compositions, with only standout tracks on offer, no fillers, the revamped band has written what is maybe their strongest offering yet, gambling all their asset thru a refined sound in order to publish their most ambitious Metal to date, combining complexity in song structures with instantly memorable hooks magnified by virtuosic playing, the result is quite unique, a very original sounding made with traditional Underground elements like HEATHEN meets VICIOUS RUMORS meets ZANISTER meets ICED EARTH meets STEEL PROPHET meets SANCTUARY meets WINTER'S BANE meets SURGEON etc...
Another essential release for one of the best year in clever Metal... I just invented a new genre.
