Servile Insurrection
Severed Saviour

In 1997, Murray Fitzpatrick decides to form a Death Metal band named CHRIST DENIED and after a few lineup changes he finally finds the fitting musicians and the Death Metal quartet records a demo with five songs and starts playing gigs with some masters like INCANTATION, DEEDS OF FLESH and DISGORGE. While the band was recognizing a bit uptick, it was time for them to change name because CHRIST DENIED was already in use. They found the name SEVERED SAVIOUR which was the most suitable to their opinion and under the singed contract with Willowtip Records they release the album Servile Insurrection on November of 2008.
When you first hear this album you suddenly stand against an awkward surprise in contrary to the overall identity of SEVERED SAVIOUR and I mean that during the songs there is a bunch of impertinent intermissions to anything resembling the rest of the synthesis, as well as some virtuoso-complexes which create in moments a boring and tiresome atmosphere. Luckily comparing with the total duration of the album, that doesn't happen many times and SEVERED SAVIOUR offer the standard aggression of a heavy and brutal outfit, with a variety of draggy takes and the leading role of a guitarist, a fact that leaves no doubt that among others, the member's biggest influences were BROKEN HOPE especially in the Grotesque Blessings period.
One of Servile Insurrection's songs that presents almost every faculty of the band is the song Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis, where there is no pressure as far as their grandstand play is concerned. On the other hand I would completely suggest the band to remove the song Intervallo Del Tradimento, cause it really gives the idea that the moment they were recording it they were a bit tired of the Death Metal monotony and wanted to try a flamingo(!!!) outbreak!
To sum up, it seems that if this band is ready to do some compromises and get rid of what is obvious irrelevant with the general style they chose to adopt, it is almost confident that if now we speak in a good mood about SEVERED SAVIOUR, those positive reviews are going to get at list a double ascent and the band is going to be worshipped from the fans of Death Metal as something pure and competent.
