The collective Vrasubatlat is about to emerge an explosion of atmospheric Black Metal in the hands of the SERUM DREG band and their ferocious album "Lustful Vengeance" that through the brief but powerful 25 minutes of album demonstrates the potential of this work that expands the idea to something very more audible and dense that may come to the fore in the future. We start by talking about the first track "Rotten Pillar/Lustful Vengeance" which although it contains a long and tiring introduction with drums in a battle climate with 2: 30 min, followed by a mix of Atmospheric Death Metal with Black Metal perfectly completing the 7:48 min of the song. Dark and with great Hardcore influences, this is a big change since the release of the 2015 demo, "Impure Blood" that automatically recalled MAYHEM's "Deathcrush."

A very interesting factor in this work is undoubtedly the way the band expanded their sound without actually being attached to one strand or other, which is easy to note in "Edifice of Hatred" that explodes in the loudspeakers with much of what Old Thrash Metal School preached for years in terms of instrumental line. However it is necessary to mention that this is not a constant in the band which makes the album interesting for a release of the collective Vrasubatlat in Portland, Oregon. The band in turn is the essence of the underground in each track and we can reflect if this album would not exactly be a search for the ideal identity considering that the vocals also are variants with inclinations of the growls of Death Metal with the chaotic effect of Black Metal. Note this detail in "Holy Disease" and "Death Ritual" which are insanely well built and make the audition of this album really efficient. I must admit at this point that the set works much better on short tracks.

"Impure Ceremony" brings a handsome work from Ash Borer's alumni duo, which integrates the SERUM DREG line-up, providing the vocals for recording in a really noisy way with a psychopathic style bordering some Horror Metal lines. We finally got the last track "Blasphemic Black Death Noise" and here unfortunately we have the feeling that the band gets lost for some time making the track tiring but extremely connected to the lines of Black Metal, and analyzing in a general way this is certainly a job that should be on your list of auditions for 2018. The new album "Lustful Vengeance" by SERUM DREG in vinyl format is being released on April 20 by Invictus & Vrasubatlat which makes the album a potentially expressive article. The cassette version was released in a limited edition in January with only 30 copies.
