Sercati - In the Shadows of Sidewalks album cover

It has become somewhat easy to tell if music is made with passion or is just boringly inspired by certain music and just copies formulas with no spirit whatsoever. The extended play by SERCATI entitled "In the Shadows of Sidewalks" seeks to add nothing to the table, and deliver a very boring release devoid of essence, feel and musicianship.

"In the Shadows of Sidewalks" is a melodic black metal release composed of 4 tracks that span less than 20 minutes, and manage to seem far more than that. To describe the musicianship in this release would force me to write the most boring and unreadable sentences. Simply put, everything is bland and uninspired. The keyboards even manage to sound dead and mediocre, and everything else is what I would personally compose if I wanted to emulate a certain sound in melodic black metal.

SERCATI's EP is only recommended to those who wish to support the band, and to those who have a taste for low quality black metal music. Generally though, stay away as this release is high not recommended to anyone with ears for music.
