Semblant - Lunar Manifesto album cover

With little less than a decade of the band formation SEMBLANT reached out its second full-length album entitled "Lunar Manifesto". The Brazilian sextet formed by Mizuho Lin (vocals), Sergio Mazul (male voice), Sol Perez (guitar), Juliano Ribeiro (guitar), Thor Sikora and J. Augusto (keyboards) have as their main efforts the bet on the duet between Lin and Mazul, and the focus on the production and music videos for promo this album. The mix is well crafted and all the instruments are a very clear and easy to listen to. Throughout the album there are eleven songs, starting with "Incinerate", a track that brings a very fast and powerful rhythm featuring the voice of Lin. Here we can already notice a band does not prioritize the technical section, bringing a very simple guitar and keyboard solos besides being very commercial. In a part of the song, almost at its end, it seems to me a poorly cover of ARCH ENEMY. "Dark Of The Day" is a little bit more melodic and makes a big mess mixing up grows, cleanses and females in a short time, showing a very unpleasant sonority.

"What Lies Ahead" may is the most commercial than all tracks, bringing a sticky chorus and a totally teenager feeling. Even counting with a well-built rhythm, the voice effects are very out of place. "The Shrine" is perhaps one of the few sparkle at this work, with a little more creativity instrumentality, but the change of vocals in each verse is meaningless and boring. "Burst Open" tries to make an introduction copying KAMELOT but fails, the song is very slow and without emotion. "The Hand That Bleed" brings some of the hard rock riffs of the 80's, unlike "Selfish Liar" which is another spark, with a heavier keyboard and stretched female vocal. "Scarlet Heritage" finish the work summarized all the defects already seen in other songs: lack of creativity, excessive alternation in vocals, too simple riffs and poor solos. Perhaps SEMBLANT is a good entrance for children and teenagers to the metal world, but frankly, a lot of things should be improved. Aside I did not see anything that EVANESCENCE did before, with much more quality.
