SELEFICE were part of the underground Extreme Metal scene of Greece in the early 90's but split up in 1994 after a demo and one full length.  Today, they have turned with this four track EP titled "I Met A God." The opening track, "Mora," begins with some cascading drums and a death growl chanting the title over and over again.  The growl sounds great but the repetition is extremely annoying.  The clean vocals sound like a discount Lemmy and don't go at well with the Death Metal oriented music.  I half wonder why the vocals aren't just full on growls, which sound better anyway and I assume done by one of the other members.  The music is very repetitive as well but the ending guitar solo is killer as are the drums.  The guitar tone has a nice old school feel to it, I just wish it was playing more interesting parts.

"Kol Haneshama," is a slightly better track but once again the vocals just kill it.  Much like the previous track, it gets rather tiresome to constantly have the Death growls pop up after everything the other vocalist says.  Around the 4:10 mark, I did enjoy the clean guitar layered over the riffs and the more melodic section that comes right afterwards.  The band definitely has the chops to vary their sound, even if they don't most of the time. The EP gains steam as it goes because the third track, "I Met A God," is, musically, better than the two before it.  The hammering snare really gets the song going and I loved a lot of the riffs but, for the third time in a row, the band's vocals idea kill the song dead in the water.  The track features some weird spoke word/audio clips mixed up with the vocals and it is sounds like a freakin' muddled mess to the point where I'm not sure what they were thinking.  However, halfway through the song a clean, melodic interlude with some exceptional bass saves the track from mediocrity.  The soul filled guitar solo is yet another example of what this band can do when they expand their sound.

The last track, "Damned," is the best track on the album-it has tempo changes, decent vocal approach and sound that balances melody and heavy. But as it stands, one track out of four isn't enough for me to get excited about. This isn't a terrible album but, for me, for everything the band does right they also do wrong due to having vocal presentation issues and inconsistent music.
