Your Ghost
Secret of Boris

You know it's going to be a painful review when you burst into laughter before the first chorus. In Fact, "Your Ghost" has been sitting in my inbox for a good few weeks now. I've approached it from a multitude of angles, poked it, prodded it and yet it is impossible to state exactly what this album is. SECRET OF BORIS , despite the odd name choice, seem to be growing and developing a fanbase, but I cannot picture who these people are. Its not gonna be those clad in spikes or ripped vests for example.
Sounding like a poor man's attempt of beer swilling Hard Rock and a Grade 1 keyboard student this is a strange album to begin with. This is before we get into the NICKELBACK vocals that just ooze pure cringe, or the production that feels like a capsule of mud has been inserted into your inner ear. The odd placed keyboards in "Virus" are something straight from a parody band, just like the following vocal break.
The almost Lounge-esque "Lost in a Daze" is so deep in its own melancholy that it could drown in it given half the chance. Someone, somewhere may enjoy this band but right here, right now it is pitiful and serves only as a 50 minute torture session that could be used by the CIA.
