I remember back in the old days that we didn't have that amount of releases and the majority was from descent to masterpieces. Nowadays, we have tons of new EP's CD's, demos etc that most of them are from mediocre to crap.

SEANCE was formed back in 1990 and they have released a demo and two full length albums, until 1993. Two of the founding members left the band: Patrik Jensen in order to form THE HAUNTED and bass player Bino in order to study. After that the band disappeared for 15 years and now they are back with their new third album Awakening Of The Gods.

In this release, you will come across typical old school Swedish Death Metal, with some thrashy riffs, nothing more, nothing less; even though the production is great, and the band sounds tight. But that's all folks. OK, I know it is impossible to write something completely new, but by having some 'classic' guitars here and there and some slow and mind tempo parts, doesn't make your album interesting. To tell you the truth, I can't talk about any song that made me a better impression than the others, since, in my opinion, all the tracks are the same.

There are not much more to say about this album. If you like old-school Swedish Death Metal and you don't mind that this is something that you have listened to before, Awakening Of The Gods is an album for you. As for all the others that want the 'touch' that makes an album differentiating from the others, you have to look somewhere else.
