Rage
Scratch The Floor

Scratch the Floor from Georgia's new EP entitled "Rage" was not my favorite. The album starts off with "Stand Up for Yourself" which immediately demands your attention with an opening of the vocalist screaming the title. In my opinion, this was a great way to start the tune, but then it went downhill. I felt the singer was just "yelling at me," more talking angrily than actual singing. The screaming that happens right before the chorus was the only part of the song I enjoyed.
The title track of the album "Rage" did nothing for me. As I listened, it seemed every other word was "fuck" which ruined the song for me. It seemed un-necessary to use it over and over. When the song ends, the vocalist randomly says it again. I think the song could have been much better with expanded vocabulary.
Although I felt the band worked well together, nothing stood out for me. There were no solos to showcase the rest of the band's talented members. Also, when I listened to the EP again on a car stereo, the band overpowered the vocalist.
This EP was not my taste, but I'm not throwing it away for everyone. I feel the band as a whole needs work to become better. They have the right idea in this album, they just need to get it on track. I think the vocalist succeeds more in the screaming area than singing and I would like to hear more solos to show off the rest of the band.
