When we talk in Brazil about the lands of Minas Gerais, a lot of names appear, for MG is one of the great warehouses of Brazilian Metal bands, from where came great names as SARCÓFAGO, CHAKAL, DROWNED, UGANGA, SCIBEX, and a lot of others, and keeping alive the old flame, now it's time for SCOURGE, that comes from Uberlândia (one of the three vertices of Satanic Triangle in Minas Gerais), get again on assault with the second album, "Hate Metal".

Besides their music has and old school feeling (for the member leader, Juarez, is one guy from our scene since the 80's), we can hear the good melodies arose from their work, specially from the guitars, and the music is one step ahead of what their first album ("...on the Sin, Death, Lust and Hate...", from 2010), pulsing with life and aggressiveness, without losing the sense of technique.

Produced by SCOURGE allied with Rodrigo Nepumoceno, and recorded at Chederrecords Studios, the sound production is intense and heavy as Heel, staying in a way between old school sound and modern support. And the artwork is a fine piece of art done by Fernando Lima (from DROWNED), that with Manu Joker (from UGANGA), Rodrigo de Carya (from LUSTFULL), e Anticristo (for Metal's sake, must I say that he is W. Antichrist, from SARCÓFAGO???), participating in the choruses.

The highlights: "Sentenced to Die" (bass and drums doing a strong and heavy work), the slower, heavy and oppressive "The Bread that God Crushed", the brutal "Orgy in Paradise", "My Hate, My Dreams, My Revenge" (one of the finest moments of the album, with great vocals, and great guitar riffs and solos), and "Hate Metal", an anthemic declaration of war against those who don't support underground music.

A fine album, and hope SCOURGE to grow a lot, for it's a great and good name of Brazil's Metal scene.
