Scent Of Flesh - Valor In Hatred album cover

Reading Yiannis' review about the new Das Ich album was more than an enjoyable procedure. I admit that I brought out strangling laughter with my co-editor's desperation and that's probably why I got ''punished'' by 'getting Valor In Hatred'. In a normal situation, I would have cursed my chief editor about this, but in this case I know I'm paying my sins...
Oh God it's been so long since I've been in the middle of such a mess. We are talking about the superlative masturbation festival where everyone does whatever he wants whenever he wants. Mainly Death Metal, a bit of Black, some Thrash adjustments, Hardcore elements and the musical circus is ready to perform.
You know what? If they were skillful enough to combine successfully all these genres, I swear I would shut my mouth and sew up my lips with a headrope. But they aren't. All they do is hurl countless riffs here and there and give the tracks the aspect of an over-stuffed turkey. Seriously, there must be more than 5 riffs in most songs. I'm not pretty sure, and that's only because I didn't suffer enough to listen to all of it. I've tried mettlesome 2 or 3 times to do so, but it seems to me that my magical number proved to be 4, as always after this track I abandoned any try for some peace of mind.
It is a boring, flat, time-wasting album from which you'd better stay away for your own sake. I can't believe that some people are actually putting a price on it to be sold. Even if you had it for free, I bet my ass it would justify it's existence by gathering all the dust from your CD case. Their music is to be rated (always according to my tastes) with less than zero but I respect the fact that they spent some time in the studio and actually worked for this. It still stinks though and if someone could give you a single reason to buy it, that man would definitely not be me.
