This is the third full length album from the guys from Belgium. They are following in the footsteps on two man bands like BLACK COBRA. Maximum volume and just the basics, lead guitar and blasting drums. I was not expecting something like this to be perfectly honest, I have listened to a Stoner Metal Instrumental album in my twenty odd years of listening to all sorts of Metal. So I did some digging and listened to their previous releases to get a feel for that particular style of metal.
The earlier releases do tend to be more aggressive compared to this latest release. "III'' is more methodical, more seasoned. Still quite heavy but really slower than what they did before. It does remind me a bit of their brethren from Belgium, the guys from KADAVAR. It's a slower pace but highly enjoyable album that needs more than one listening to really appreciate it to the fullest. It's probably because of the evolution of the band throughout the last few years. It might lack the energy from "II'' and the eponymous album from 2010 but it has its moments, "Battering Ram'' will pretty much knock your socks off and is the more accessible song on this album.
If you enjoy KADAVAR, MASTODON, and HIGH ON FIRE, this is highly recommended!
