Fe2O3
Rusted Through

RUSTED THROUGH is a pretty fresh band that comes with its debut (?) full-length album "Fe203" to deliver its own Metal madness. With the quote "100% American Metal made in the USA" on the back of the promo I prepared myself for something that would rock my socks off. The US act didn't really manage to amaze as much as I expected.
Their music is a mix between what we call Alternative Metal and "macho" Hard Rock (kind of radio friendly though). The vocals switch between harsh Nu screams and aggressive Hetfield-like melodies, while the guitars are mostly based on heavy melodic grooves, so don't search for incredible riffs in here. The band is not bad at all, since you can pleasantly listen to the album, but only for a few times, since after a couple of listening sessions the interest you initially had fades away and boredom knocks on your door.
I think that when you decide to play this kind of music, which without any doubt is commercial, you have to think in a more commercial way. You have to have an album with at least one or two big hits, and "Fe203" has no hits. The band shows some good signs and with a little more work I think we may be talking about a more than decent band that will be played on radio & TV stations out there. Until then...
