RITUAL KING is a hard rock band hailing from Bolton, United Kingdom. Formed in 2013 under the name RENEGATE AND RETROSPECT. They changed their name into the current one just before releasing their first EP, "Elixir". Their sound is supposedly oldschool rock, but it has a very tangible "youth" added to it. All 5 songs are catchy, energetic and well performed. Found myself listening to the album more times than it was needed for a review, for the simple fact that it was quite enjoyable and it gave me a good mood. Two songs that stood out were "Devil's Chokehold" and "Unorthodox Satisfaction".

"Devil's Chokehold" has a rock and roll groove that reminds of childhood, giving out a very positive vibe. Enjoyable and well written/performed, it started the album perfectly, making it a great intro song. "ISD" follows, reminding me, for some reason of a more hard rock-ish version of "The Offspring". Maybe it's the teen style vocals or the positive, "happy" guitar riffs, not sure, but it sounds good, it sounds young, and it tends to remain somewhere in the subconscious for later humming."Unorthodox Satisfaction" is, no doubt, my favorite song from the album. The intro of the song, a great upbeat combo of bass and drums followed by an overall energetic guitar and vocals created a  song which glows of positivity and energy. It feels like an adolescent energy flows into the listener.

The EP contains a total of 5 songs, and after listening to them; I will patiently wait for more.  There is potential here, it sounds great, it has a nice combination of voice and instrumentals, all well played, and the mastering is done quite well for a new band, I must admit. Overall it has been a pleasure listening to the album, and it made me want more.
