Something that hasn't been seen before in terms of music releases; a decade gap in-between two releases, the release in question is the album "Exterminance" by Black Doom Metal quartet RITUAL KILLER. This album was composed by two ex members of Thrash Metal band GOATWHORE and for those into their Extreme Metal this is a treat.
For those of you unfamiliar with RITUAL KILLER here's some background information. RITUAL KILLER formed in the year 1999 in the town of New Orleans, United States. They released their first album "Upon The Threshold Of Hell" in the year 2005 and they grace the metal scene ten years later with this new record.
Those who don't understand the sounds of RITUAL KILLER or GOATWHORE may jump to the conclusion that the sound may be boring as the music serves more as a background soundtrack as you do tasks. You know when you hear loud music through the closed door of a house or car? It sounded like the album was recorded this way and the fuzziness is somewhat off putting at first.
However seeing comments from fans of the band it seems like they have delivered a classic album that have made some top ten appearances. For those who aren't familiar with the sound it may take getting used to at first. So once you get past the initial unnerving aggressive you soon see that this record is an absolute must for any fan of the Extreme end of the Metal spectrum. As for how the record was recorded, this could have been an old school effect to re-create the vintage vibe.
Overall not a bad record for those who are into the Extreme side of the metal spectrum, those who more used to the Melodic side it might take a bit of getting used to.
