Absolute Dismal Domain

Relics of Humanity

A Brutal Death Metal release with a different appeal.
February 6, 2025

The more one listens to certain genres (having in mind that they can’t limit a band’s musical work), the easier will to check as some acts needs to evolve a bit more to try to run away from models and do thing on their own. And some acts, even not getting out of limits, can do something that’s worthy for fans that are saturated with clones playing as they were just another band. For those into Brutal Death Metal (one of the gene that is filled with thousands of clones), the Belarus based quartet RELICS OF HUMANITY shows some surprises on “Absolute Dismal Domain”. The difference between the band and thousand of clones on Brutal Death Metal is the fact that they use some influences from Death Metal and even a good technical appeal, becoming slightly different from the usual.

But for the fans, the extreme low death growls, the nasty prevalence of slower tempos, the nasty and bitter riffs that the quartet offers will sound (as said above) different from the usual, and the reason they are pretty good. Siarhei (in reality, Sergey Liakh, the band’s guitarist) worked on the mixing and mastering of the songs (and did the artwork as well), and even having that filthy and raw sonority loved by Brutal Death Metal fans, things here were done to be defined and understandable, even being a sonority usual for the genre (pay attention to the snare drums’ tunes).

If the reader is a Brutal Death Metal addicted, for sure that will love what is depicted by the band after the intro “Omen Apollyon”. It means that “Summoning of Those Who Absorbed”, “Taking the Shape of Infinity”, “In the Name of Ubiquitous Gloom”, “Paralyzing the Light II”, “Absolute Dismal Domain”, “Smoldering of Seraphim”, “His Creation That No Longer Exists” and “Dominion” (that works as a climatic and oppressive outro) deliver what you want, but with little differences that make their work worthy of being heard carefully. RELICS OF HUMANITY can develop things a bit more to become a relevant name in the Brutal Death Metal scene, but “Absolute Dismal Domain” seems to depict that they’re on the right path.
