Straight from Gothenburg, Sweden, REBOOT THE SYSTEM unleashed their debut full-length album, The Fall, March 3, 2023. Gothenburg, the heart of such a stunning array of metal. A mecca, if you will; the home of Melodic Metal. REBOOT THE SYSTEM is a Thrash/Melodic, one-man Metal band. By one man, I am referring to the very musically talented, passionate, Mattias Zimmergren. REBOOT THE SYSTEM has been busy releasing several singles prior to the release of The Fall.

I find that Mattias' passion is so deeply evident in the music he produces. The artful musical compositions, the deep robust vocals. Each piece, each song; somehow something you feel rather than hear. This album, therefore, is more of an experience rather than something you listen to. Reboot the System - Leading in with a futuristic intro lends credence to the band name, REBOOT THE SYSTEM. Yet with rage, we scream at the system that holds us down. Vocals vary from deep, throaty yells, to violent screams of Thrash Metal. While the musical parts stick with their roots in Melodic metal. Beast of Prey - An artful beat sets the intensity of a vengeful heart. Beautiful finger-work on guitar chords throughout the song. Such incredible vocal prowess at the various notes hit lyrically. Iniquity - The Melodic intro to this song makes my heart sing, I am a sucker for some great Melodic Metal. My truest love within the Metal genres. Passionate and futuristic, and loud and powerful; this song hits hard.

The Fall - My most favorite song on the album! The guitar work in this song is absolutely masterful and lusciously artistic. The sound of the entire song is robust and the melody hits just right. Deep and rich vocals add just the right touch to the emotion inducing music. If musical notes are a wave that carries you to some magical place inside, this song is a tidal wave. Hourglass - A fantastical tune, circular in a way. Round and round until you're abruptly confronted with an onslaught of Thrash yells. In the hourglass of time, this song is the vortex of dark absolution. Absolving light. The Fall is a new favorite on my playlist, REBOOT THE SYSTEM did not disappoint! Mattias has self-created and self-released a true masterpiece of a debut album. One that would easily appeal to Thrash-heads and Melodic lovers alike.
