Reaper - The Atonality Of Flesh album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: REAPER; signed via Iron Bonehead Productions, performing Black/Speed Metal, on their sophomore album entitled: "The Atonality Of Flesh" (released March 5th, 2021).

Since formation in 2018; the duo in question have a Demo entitled: "Ravenous Storm Of Piss" (released December 24th, 2018) (I laughed extremely hard at that name) and 2 Full-Length Albums in their discography so far. "Unholy Nordic Noise" (released December 23rd, 2019) & this here 2nd album entitled: " The Atonality Of Flesh". 13 tracks ranging at around 32:10, REAPER arranges an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Black/Speed Metal amalgamations.

Opening up with the cryptic but cinematic writings of the "Intro" which unearths this plot of total ruination, until these boisterously bouncy calamities within the "Dogs of the Crumbled Firmament" unleashes a blistering barraged frenzy on some blackened adrenaline and amplified distortion in hasty hostility. As blasphemous firepower steamrolls with trailblazing impact, bludgeoning eardrums with this jumpy yet punchline pummel on wildly rushing pandemonium & ruthless synergies that skyrockets with thunderous thuds while sturdy rhythms rivets with rawly rough perseverance.

Vocals surge with raspy tightness, roaring with sulfurous growls in which yell with deep guttural cords from consisting frontman Ityphallic Flaggelator (also on the shredding guitar) alongside with Duca the Impaler who showcases synthetic retribution on rambunctiously piledriving audibility. Also injecting infectiously thumpy stompiness on steely precision, rapidly swift nimbleness & dexterously dynamic substance. Organically striking with sonically seamless pursuits that venomously slabs this solid profanity on monstrously meaty savagery, especially in the rampantly bulldozing berserkers: "The Sweetness of the Wound" & "Come Nature, Come Cruelty, Come Death".

This juggernaut titan of a record distils a chiselling attribute on some sinister yet melodious harmonies, "Nightgaunts" gives a brief interlude an acoustic strum that sounds like it would come from the Addams Family in Metal form. Until "Raid The Heavens" revels with more voraciously speedy relentlessness, the malevolent yet meticulously volatile velocity here intensifies with razor-sharp maelstrom spectrums that pursuits with tenacious tempos on high-octane profanity. Where an archaic conundrum on satanic combustion engages in choppy crescendos, and crunchy chomps belt a bruising fabrication on vibrantly potent panache. "Saturn Devours" tramples you with teething snares, where profusely robust stabilities ultilises total vehemence & versatile nastiness. Scattering this whirlwinding tonality on screeching shrieks, vicious laceration and killer kicks. REAPER are like a reaver of spellbinding reverberation, resonating with technically progressive rumbles that trembles your soul with evil empowering embrace.

"Architecture of the Flame" furnaces with this sheer prowess on insidious hardiness, articulating an exhilarating fortress in extreme executions that will scourge you with this tempestuously slaying yet radically wicked unrepentance. "Me, You and the Juices of Death" clobbers you with morbid divinity, fiercely throttling motorings on filthy abominations of ominously jarring scours that embellishes in a borderline foundation in grindy experimentation while seemingly one-dimensional, a hybrid flare in diligently detailed immolation that will motivate you with this powerful urge to break chairs over other chairs as you possess yourself with malignant demonizing and extreme noise terror.

"Thru With You" elements an exhilarating oscillation where the vocals swirl with the title's lyrical theme of putrefying severity, snappy subjugation also constructs a revolving subtlety on strifing remedies on rigorous heat. Frantic mobility transcends with static malice within "Rise Epimetheus", as hellish havoc in chugging frolics and galloping virtuosities quintessentially unearths this stampeding momentum on rampageous zest in dark but twisted smacks while slashing with flexible fundamentals in fast but deadly aggression...especially in "Piss, Bile and Violence"

Overall concluding "The Atonality Of Flesh" with the finale "Outro", a deathly drill in eerie gnarly and ghastliness - ending as it did begin only with the final, lingering words within this spoken word closure being "until the time comes for all life to be...extinguished..." completes this eradication of life with distinctively distinguished contrast.

Bottom line; I am compelled to say that REAPER certainly outdone themselves for a debut, I discovered an enjoyably banging experience that rages with no remorse while maniacally distributing diabolical brutality - definitely worthy of a few spins!
