With 7 years of existence as a band, the Mexican quartet QUESTION have so far released three pieces of material - which include the "Demo 2012", their so far only full-length album from 2014 called "Doomed Passages" and their brand new, five track EP called "Gnosis Primordial"; with the latter being the one we shall be talking about today. The band consists of four people, with all the normal instruments involved, and the EP itself has a dizzy yet cool cover. It starts off with "The Day the Sun Ascended Black", which has a really strong Thrash Metal vibe, with the bass lines, the overall riff work, the relentlessly fast drumming, and the vocals proving that this is one hell of an EP. I will admit, I didn't expect much from these guys, but I was very wrong. Seriously, the vocalizations are really deep and remind of some of the classical Mexican Death Metal bands such as BLACKTHORN and MORTUARY. Still, it has a strong contemporary vibe, with clean production, an overall great atmosphere and a lot of experimentation going on.

"Eons in Slumber" isn't much different from the previous song, but it keeps hitting hard with more aggressive riffs, a lot of brutal and low growling vocals, as well as some tasty drum work. "Silhouettes of Reality", the third track, starts off slowly with calmly played guitars from the beginning until the very end; it's a really nice instrumental. "Descent into Oblivion" is brutal! It's back on track right where the previous ones left off, but the band have shifted into a faster motion. The playing style has sped up, the drums became deadly, the vocals are madder than ever and everything is so deep and well tuned. I love their sound  - and we won't talk about originality, for that topic has been beaten to death - these guys are simply great! The end has come, and "Consciousness Unborn" is here. It's another furious and massive track with hard hitting brutal riffs, great bass work, greasy drumming, and a lot more vocals. This track simply makes you want more and crave more from the band's sound. Seriously, definitely make sure to check out their entire discography including this EP, which was released at the very start of this year but hasn't yet had the chance to be heard!
