True power lies in people. PROJECT 86, their history and their albums are clean evidences of these words. The band's history started in 1996 in Californian Orange County. During these almost 20 years they have released 9 full albums. "Knives to the future" is their most recent work, released in November 2014, crowdfunded. Through Indigo crowdfunding site they collected almost $90000 for this record, acoustic EP and Andrew Schwab's solo album. The objective was to raise $50000. As we see many people are intrested in the band's activity. Ah, and the important thing is that the band is assosciated with the Christian movement, and it's easy to find this in their lyrics. And with lyrics we start. Andrew Schwab is known for his deep and poetic style. As I mentioned it's highly inspired by Catholic philosophy so in his work we can find many appeals to the Scriptures.

The overall effect is highly inspirational and sublime. It might seem to not fit the Post- Hardcore/Alternative Rock style, but it actually works and the hardness of these genres beautifully highlights the message. I must say that these 2 styles are excellently merged half and half. No, no, no - no core-style breakdowns. Gang vocals adds great power and ferocity to tracks. Choruses are mostly screamed and verses sung, but they didn't broke the buoyant theme. Another nice thing is that you hear that the made good use of the raised money. Great record and mastering. Hats off. Tracks like flagship "Knives to the future" and "Ambigram" are worth my recommendation.

Summing up it has solid production and their fanbase (which seems to be organised and huge) shouldn't be disappointed. PROJECT 86 haven't changed their style when I checked their previous stuff; the band has set on a path which they have kept to 'religiously'. I have no problem with that but it seems like there are patterns in their music. The change is in the sound - it's up to the modern convention. It's good to know this band when you oscillate around modern rock genre. I give them the green light. Thumbs up.
