War Culture
Perfect World
As usual, it must be said that there are many different Schools for Hardcore throughout the world. All of them have their own personal features in a way that one experienced listener can foresee the nationality of the band just listening to the band's music. It happens due to the national (and even regional) features of the music itself. For example, if one take a Californian Hardcore band and compare with a band from the same genre, but being from the East Coast, both will be extremely different. And the quintet PERFECT WORLD shows it on their new album, "War Culture".
They're from New York, so their music is a form of NYHC, or in New York's Hardcore. But it's plenty of modern Hardcore influences (the so called breakdowns and with abrasive aggressiveness inherited from Crossover). But be prepared, because the quintet is not kidding, and their musical work is based upon a massive energy with nasty (but great) musical arrangements. It's a hard blow in the mouth for those who worship evil politicians and mendacious leaders. The production was done in a modern way (but please, don't confound these words with Modern Metal sonorities), making things defined and in the due places. But the level of aggressiveness and distortion is what can be expected from a Hardcore band, so be prepared to feel your eardrums being ripped apart.
The massive and sharp aggressive insight of "Lariat" and "My Life Runs Out" (both excellent work from bass guitar and drums), the brutal blow given by the "King of the Night" and "World of Execution" (very good tunes are heard on the screamed vocals), the brutal grasp of "War Culture" (a solid and strong wall of massive guitars can be heard on this one), the slamdancing invitation made on "Mission" (filled of NYHC and Crossover influences) and the fast approach used on "Become What You Hate" are the best moments of the album.
For now, listen to "War Culture" at the loudest volume, and praise the NYHC bringers of PERFECT WORLD.
