Metal maniacs, rejoice! I'm proud to present to you: PELANDER; signed via Nuclear Blast Records, hailing from Swedish grounds - performing Acoustic Rock, on the debut album entitled "Time" (released in October 2016).
Magnus Pelander is better known for his work in the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal quintet: WITCHCRAFT; stepping the tone down a bit with his new solo Acoustic Rock project: PELANDER, I'm introduced to "Time" a 6 track EP that showcases light-hearted Acoustic Rock, combining atmospheric harmonies - giving off a feel-good sensation. "Umbrella" begins the EP and right off the speakers; I'm entranced with psychedelic melodies in which envision an enlightening listen, while strictly there is no Metal to go mental to...there is however a talented solo artist who performs with talent and gracefulness to provide a fulfilling listen. "Family Song" entails more intricacy with complex songwriting and enjoyably elegant melodies, showcasing a distinct formula in Acoustic Rock with vocalization excelling with intentional bliss. "The Irony Of Man" is another exquisite track...
...I enjoy a solidly produced sound production in which makes me feel glad to enjoy something outside of the extremity of Metal that we here at the Temple relish for; I was pleasantly surprised that the mighty Nuclear Blast Records themselves would sign Magnus Pelander's acoustic creation, and going in with medium expectations...those were met with high praise and an open mind, surprisingly. "True Colour" is also an interesting delicacy; where the vocalization feels joyous to listen to, and rhythmic composing elements at a dexterous flair distinctively resulting with efficiency in this organically filled EP - the aesthetic is unprecedented and illuminates me greatly. "Precious Swan" extends the experience introducing a female duet (which information is unknown) for more substance in structure. And so the titular track "Time" concludes the EP with divine reception in typical Rock clarity.
"Time" was very short and clocked in at around 34 minutes; with "True Colour" & "Precious Swan" being the longest tracks at 8:57 and 9:53. Though it was still an EP (that still could be considered album material) that showcased Magnus' potential as a Acoustic Rock solo artist and Metal fans in general should still check out such an interesting piece of art that WITCHCRAFT fans themselves will most indefinitely hold dear as well.
While not much was to note in Metal terms; Magnus still composed cleanly compiled vocals that balanced a diverse array of instrumental grace that celebrated an impactful production, do yourselves a favor - and enlighten yourselves with some dainty acoustics.<
