Palefeather - Palefeather album cover

Three Swedish musicians coming from the extreme Metal sphere consisting of Peter Stam and Björn Pettersson from the band IN MORNING and Robin Bergh form OCTOBER TIDE are forming the young Progressive Rock project PALEFEATHER. The music of this bans does not escape from a good dose of post rock, if we consider that we are not in the same time of the giants of Prog Rock of the 70's and 80's.

The first opus of this band is called "Palefeather" and settles into a range that approaching PINK FLOYD in the philosophy of music writing, and moving towards a modern approach that recalls the groups GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT or CULT OF LUNA. The production is very successful, the result of a work by Michael Nordström in the mixing and Magnus Lindberg in mastering mission. All the sounds are atmospheric and spacy, which is placed in forward from the beginning. The song "Megaloceros giganteus" introduces this album and highlights all the items below.

Guitars and keyboards are the two most present elements in the sound of PLAEFEATHER. We can hear some slamming arpeggios and repetitive muscular parts. Adding to all that the atmospheric work on the keyboards by the multi-instrumentalist Pierre stam that stimulate human conscience and feelings. Rhythm is repeated with hypnotic way; listen to the song "Rombol" to achieve this.

This album grows on 47 minutes entirely instrumental, very sufficient for you to live in a dream and to test your unconsciousness. This is a beautiful expectation on the part of three musicians who are certainly known by a much heavier sound.
