Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: OVERSTAY; independently unsigned, hailing from French grounds - performing Indie Rock, on their 1st EP entitled "So-So" (released November 29th, 2019).

Since formation in 2015; the quartet in question have an album entitled: "Going Nowhere" (released September 15th, 2018), and this here EP entitled: "So-So" in their discography so far of which I am introduced to. 4 tracks ranging at around 15:43; OVERSTAY arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Indie Rock developments, "Who Are You?" begins the EP - demonstrating an adroitly composed execution of old-school psychedelia...manifesting meticulous rock rhythms while riffing with thunderous barrages and amplified adrenaline. Implementing boistrously bouncy elements, and a solid outrè of panache that showcases uniquely versatile vehemence while ultilizing diligently detailed instrumentation in which portrays primitively momentous melodies of quintessential virtuosity.

Consisting of Jim on vocals/guitar; the frontman embellishes on punchy foundations, borderline finesse and a clean but high-pitched process. Pipes that yell with this vibrantly potent quirk, while providing throaty maelstroms that merge with progressively technical songwriting musicianship...riveting with rapidly swift nimbleness & organic substance who also creates dynamic guitar fretworks, excelling dexterity while forging rawly rough jumpiness. "Questions" flamboyantly fabricates sonically seamless hybrids, dimensioned into a gnarly flair of harmonized distortion & hasty inventivity. Distributing an immersive aesthetic of complex craftsmanship, while contrasting crunchy grinds with rollicking trailblazing & moody vibes...alterating alternative headiness with rich soundscapes.

Sylvain also on guitars establishes drifting synergies; systematically transistioning mid-tempo chugs, frolicking gallops and a meaty slab of volatile precision. "Valentine's Day" is a comedic love song while having a nice message; subjugating salubrious pursuits of remedious ramifications, shredding with roaring yet traditional soars that outbursts with flavour and evolving imagination. Audible bassist Thierry thumps with pulsating stability, rumbling with sophisticated trembles & a grandiose grandure of hardened firepower. OVERSTAY do not overstay their welcome, yet they piledrive a healthy dose of variety that really surprised me for Indie Rock territory of this sub-genre. Powerhouse pummeller Greg also batters his drums with rambunctious hammering, hinting at sometimes simplistic results but while having a decent balance of patterns that rock with style & steely remarkabilities.

Overall concluding "So-So" with the finale epic: "Lampedusa" which wonders with prodegiously prestigious perseverence, persistently triggering calamities and an impressive innuendo of distinctively distinguished ambiency that splendidly revolves around an eccentric calibre of fashionable captivation. OVERSTAY certainly outdone themselves with this one, it is probably not a discovery dedicated to us metalheads - though the band definitely delievered an enjoyably entertaining experience that should be checked out at least once. If you like a diverse approach in your music taste, mixing up spice with new artistry...it is indeed worth the time - have a go. It's a great culmination of British Rock converged with the French mobility, that unites unprecedented originalities & mandatory relishments - rocking stuff.
