FIREWIND's keyboardist/guitarist Bob Katsionis, inspired in the beginning from a couple of recorded demos from his student, Tony Kash, saw the birth of OUTLOUD. For this debut album, signed with Frontiers and produced by Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, PRETTY MAIDS, TNT etc), Bob called his fellow band mate from FIREWIND, Mark Cross, to be on the drums and Jason Mercury filled in for the bassist. Chandler Mogel (TALON) takes over the vocals and everything is set.

What this release has to offer is melodic Hard Rock, with roots that go down to known paths. Nice compositions, tight musicianship, tunes that vary from highly energetic and wild rocking attitude to sweet mellow style (Lovesigh). Unavoidably there are parts that bring strongly to mind bands like BON JOVI, WHITESNAKE, IRON MAIDEN and of course FIREWIND; especially the Search For Truth intro is quite similar to the Falling To Pieces one.

Chandler Mogel is doing an excellent job as he has the ability of applying different vocal elements on each song and where it is needed and hence making it more interesting for the listener to pay attention to each song. Greatly produced by Hansen, this album has its place among the good releases of 2009. It does not go the extra mile but definitely is a quite nifty job to invest on.
