OSIAH is a band coming to us from the United Kingdom with their latest full length album "Kingdom of Lies". The Deathcore band has released one other full length album "Terror Firma" which came out in 2016. If you are a fan of THY ART IS MURDER, WHITECHAPEL and CARNIFEX, this band is right up your alley. Ricky Lee Roper's vocals are on fucking point throughout the entire album. We have Rownan Tennet and Chris Keepin on guitars and they are absolutely amazing as well as bassist Andy Mallaby. And drummer Noah Plant is one of the sickest drummers I have heard in recent memory.
The opening song "Return to the Old World" is a face melting cacophony of rage inducing metal. This one of those songs that get you moving in your seat. The drumming on this song is awe inspiring. "The Western Star" is more down tempo than the previous song but is still an absolute insane song. The guitars will blow you away as well as the vocals. This is Deathcore made to perfection in my book. "Abattoir" at first is like listening to all of the gun fights throughout every war all wrapped into just a few seconds. The rest is some of the nastiest sludgy Death Metal I have ever heard. This song completely blew me away.
"Reflections of a Monster" takes a few seconds to kick in, but when it does, holy shit! Ricky is an absolute mad man! This is the type of shit that will make you want to peel your own flesh off just for kicks! If this song doesn't bring a smile to your face, then you are listening to the wrong type of metal and need to reevaluate your life. "Awakening" kinda sounds like if BEHEMOTH decided to get the heaviest they could and joined up with THY ART IS MURDER. This song will bring the house down.
"Ascension" is another one that will blow up the whole neighborhood. This one should absolutely be played at full volume to piss off all of your neighbors, I say fuck it, let them call the cops. This song is sick as fuck and I will be blaring it for some time to come. "Hellborn" tears it up from the very first second. This will most likely be one of the fan favorites. This is by far my favorite song I have heard so far. The intensity of this track is immeasurable and should also be listened to on full blast. They took it to eleven on this one.
"Telluric Necromancy" is a pretty bad ass song as well. The bass on this song is absolutely brilliant. This song is full of breakdowns and I fucking love it. "The March" keeps up the pace of the album which honestly doesn't switch up too much. The album is perfectly blended with slower parts as well as in your face shredding. This song though, just makes me want to tear everything around me apart.
"Red Hue Upon a Lunar Equinox" is absolutely insane! I started growling my ass off while listening to it. The only thing that was weird was how it abruptly jumps into the last track. I wasn't expecting that at all. I may have gotten a corrupted file but I will find out. The final song on the album is "The Eastern Star (Convolvulus)". This song was the perfect song to end on. It's definitely one of the most intense songs on the album and the whole band just throws it all down. I think it's one hundred percent the best song on the album. So all I have to say is stop what you are doing and go buy this album right now!
