OREAMNOS was formed in United States and is formed of members of PHTHISIS and VALDUR. The band plays a doomy variant of Death Metal with Black Metal influences. In their debut EP "Into The Night," OREAMNOS sets out to find and establish new grounds for themselves in the wide landscape of Death Metal. The first track is an instrumental one with varied use of Death Metal and Black Metal styles of riffing. It creates a menacing mood for the coming twenty and more minutes. "Shadows Of Misery" is the first time we hear the whole band, that is, Sam and Matthew, in their full fledged form as OREAMNOS. The riffing is very interesting on this song, so is the song writing. The bass is prominent, which is much appreciated. The leaping lead tone towards the middle should send shivers down any listener's spine. Towards the end the song changes direction, going at a slower pace accompanied with vocals sometimes reminiscent of MORBID.

"Bombastic Utterances" is an interlude, and then comes the amazing "Torrid Hate." The track is testament to the band's potential as great song writers. The entire song drifts by as one pays close attention to all that the band has done here. This is surprises since the song clocks in at around six and a half minutes. "March Towards Oblivion" is yet another great song on this EP. The song writing skill here is immense, and one to look out for. The EP is closed out with "Forlorn (Fire Of Despair)." A perfect end to the release, the song swirls and winds and reaches epic proportions to leave the listener wanting for more.

OREAMNOS has achieved so much on their first release that many other bands have not been able to do in their entire career. Their interesting take on Death Metal and Black Metal, and how they stitch those styles together in a very interesting way is amazing to listen, to say the least. There is immense potential to what this band could do and I can't wait to hear more from them.
