Order To Ruin

Good day Temple. Today I bring you "The Book Of Nemesis" by ORDER TO RUIN. This small Melodic Death Metal band from Germany is impressive. In the last 3 years since their debut, they released 4 full-length albums and 2 EP. They were able to give us some good material in the process. The album I am reviewing today certainly has some great moments.
ORDER TO RUIN listed a few great bands as influences like DARK TRANQUILLITY, IN FLAMES and AT THE GATE. You can definitely see these influences in their music. If they hadn't mentioned it themselves, I would have pointed it out. The vocals are very similar to DARK TRANQUILLITY, languish dark and guttural. It really blends well with the heavy sound of their music.
One thing that had me scratching my head; they aren't listing any drummer in their line-up. After a bit of digging, I found that they are using a computer drum. I can't say that I'm thrilled; this is replacing an important human aspect of a band. But I can't judge them since I don't have any back story on this. Maybe they haven't found the perfect match and I would agree with that.
I enjoyed this album, as it has the ingredient to be amazing. But I have to say it is missing a little something; the whole thing feels a bit mechanized. Missing a bit of real emotion I think. I have to mention that as I'm writing these lines, they are working on their next and 5th album to date and I will definitely give it a try.
It is a good album, one that a lot of Melodic Death fans will enjoy. ORDER TO RUIN has an amazing opportunity to break out as a must in this genre. But if I may; bring in a human aspect to the drum to fill in for the computer. Also, the album is a bit short of 40 minutes, a little more material could make a whole lot of difference in the appreciation of this band. They are definitely on the right track though.
