Metal maniacs, rejoice! I'm proud to present to you: OPERATION: MINDCRIME; signed via Frontiers Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Progressive Rock/Metal, on their 3rd album entitled: "The New Reality" (released December 1st, 2017).

Since formation in 2014; the quintet in question have 2 albums behind them, I'm introduced to their 3rd album entitled: "The New Reality". Incorporating an intricately designed formula of hard-hitting; progressively technical instrumentation and musicianship, OPERATION: MINDCRIME arrange a uniquely composed development of distinctively unprecedented orchestrations that are incredibly balanced and executed with profuse diligence and stability. Starting off with "A Head Long Jump", the quartet integrate a diverse variety of musical integrities while attributing a solid slab of adroit proficiencies that are impressively stellar. Mastermind Geoff Tate (from the legendary QUEENSRŸCHE) created the band after the QUEENSRŸCHE record: "Operation: Mindcrime" for which he has the credentials and exclusive rights to perform as a whole - the song is a 2:45 build up until the real composing begins...

Consisting of Geoff Tate on vocals; the vocalization in "Wake Me Up" has a mixture of complex range, mostly clean with raspy elements - amalgamated with a high-pitched aesthetic. Powerhouse drummers Simon Wright & Brian Tichy consistently pulverises their sets with an organic substance in the enigmatic "It Was Always You!", their hammering force showcases a concrete presentation as well as dextrous duo Scott Moughton & Kelly Gray on guitars efficiently distribute a thunderous groove while juxtaposed with distinguished characteristics. The epic synthesized implementation in "The Fear" from keyboardist Randy Gane embellishes a detailed adaptation of meticulous craftsmanship, although the never-ending lyricism embodied with "you don't know what it's like - to fear" felt a bit tedious near the ending. "Under Control" however supplied a tasteful enlightenment with a fulfilling riff that felt relentlessly invigorating.

"The New Reality" continues the conceptual storytelling, while combined with the advanced composing that is manifested with a grandiose of eclectic stability - the dynamic efficaciousness is quite mesmerizing, and the creativity is diligently multiplied - showcasing a manifestation of quirky components that is admirably commendable. "My Eyes" uses more synths with electronica features, with the rocking ingredient of thumping contrast that is all round fluid. OPERATION: MINDCRIME is full of cryptic writings as with the song "A Guitar In Church?" supplies more synth artistry and unique elements which is diversified abundantly, it is just an instrumental yet it manages to captivate me with the peculiar composing with only drums being the main course for a rocking feature. "All For What?" continues the filler that seemingly flows with an overwhelming amount of unique abstractions, mechanised with distracting elegance.

"The Wave" persists to flabbergast me with more bizarrely placed hooks of quasi-musical eccentricity, it may seems puzzling...however, the dissimilarity advances with prominently conventional expertise that experiments with these individual features. "Tidal Change" is a 1:15 short until "The Same Old Story" overall concludes the record with more unparalleled equalities, finalising this edition with an acoustic live version of "Take Hold Of The Flame" I am compelled to say that "The New Reality" was a gripping adventure...yet for a Prog Rock band; OPERATION: MINDCRIME engaged me to the point where I just had to keep on listening, I was always sceptical with Prog as a sub-genre though I believe that if you can find the right band who contribute a sufficient amount of well-organized dynamics - then you will have a helluva time and this one was no exception, worth checking out.
