Oni - Ironshore album cover

Hello Metal-Temple, today I bring you the debut album from my fellow Canadians ONI. The band was created in 2014 and released their first single in 2016, which followed by this album at the end of the same year. The album (entitled "Ironshore") is itself a pretty good example of what to do when you want to get noticed; simply release a solid album with a lot of catchy anthems and a powerful vocal track.

The first piece of the album "Barn Burner" starts off with a great, fast rhythm that gets you in the mood. The first three songs of the album are very similar in that aspect, they will catch your ear for sure and leave you wanting more.

We then get to "The Science". This 11-minute-long song is really at the top of the pole as the best song of this album. In true progressive style, they go through a lot of different speed and hooks to keep you listening from the start until the finish.

ONI is showing the full range of their talent between the last few songs of the album. The song "Spawn and Feed" dives back into more aggressive stylings, with heavy grunts and a relentless beat from the get go, giving way to a slower and more emotional sound in the following song "Chasing Ecstasy".

Overall, this album is a very good introduction to this band. With this beautifully mastered album they should doubtlessly get noticed all around the Metal world. "Ironshore" won't be on any top 10 lists right away, but it surely deserves a lot of praise for its musicianship and songwriting. This is definitely an album that I would recommend to any friends looking for something new.
