October File - The Application of Loneliness

Progressive Metal with a different theme and lyrics! For some reason, the album "The application of Loneliness, Ignorance, Misery, Love and Despair - an introspective of the Human Condition" just drives you to a portal of load of dimension. Not sure whether it's just the lyrics or music, it drives you in a way of fusion of thoughts. Every lyrics has its own thought rather than the whole lyrics. Distribution of human segmented thoughts in a very controversial way, I must say.

Consisting of 9 tracks, each track has its own way of speech and music. It certainly doesn't sound like old school but in a weird way, it sounds haunting and it craves you to listen to their voice of your own conscious mind. Not many bands have the talent or potential enough to capture one's mind. Let it be old school or new school. One cannot be biased on that. Track 2, "Heroes are welcome" is moderately welcomes you to a world with different dimensions. Lyrically captivates and the theme is so easy to understand that you might try to think about the past, present but not the future. Track 5, "Upon Reflection", a beautiful piece and peace is attainted while listening to the acoustic part. Track 6, "Elation", a different phrase with a different thought again tries to captivates you with its simplicity and not to mention every track has different sound but it sounds monotonous or the same but it's not the same because if you listen carefully. It has different speech and sound, which differentiates its individual specialty.

Counting their history of Metal, according to Wikipedia, these guys are from UK and are supposed to be Post Punk, Industrial Metal and now the album "The application of Loneliness, Ignorance, Misery, Love and Despair - an introspective of the Human Condition" brings a difference in their sound from Industrial to Progressive and I am surprised with versatility of the Band. The album itself have the potential to bring the band to mainstream level especially with the track 7 "Where the Clouds Meet the Horizon", track 8 "All Rise All Fail" and track 9 "To be Watched Upon".  With their new album, they are going to be different and the album will reach to be an entire different mode aspect for the Heavy Metal listeners since the sound is new to them.

Whether it's new or old, the album knows it. So does the listeners. Yet another roller coaster ride for the album to reach out soon enough so that the curiosity shall survive till the tracks of theirs are in the headphones or someone's playlist making their day to whole new world.

Pick of the album - "Upon Reflection", "Where the Clouds Meet the Horizon" and "Heroes are Awesome"
