October File - Holy Armour From The Jaws Of God album cover

Holy Armour From The Jaws Of God is the second album from OCTOBER FILE. An album that talks about the environment, the wars and the future of our lives and the lives of our children. Serious topics for discussion, but we are here to talk about the band and their music. Which is not bad at all...

I tried hard to find something about the band. But OCTOBER FILE, as they say in their site, don't walk to have a usual band bio bullshit of who left what to join and when they did it, even though they had some lineup changes. Well, they are right! Their music can talk for them. The only things that can be said about OCTOBER FILE is that their first release was out in April 2004. A three track EP entitled How To Lose Friends And Alienate People. Five months later the first full length album of the band A Long Walk On A Short Pier hit the stores. In October 2005, another four track EP was out, called Monuments. after a tour in the U.K. with KILLING JOKE, OCTOBER FILE, released their second albumHoly Armour From The Jaws Of God late in 2007.

Written and recorded over a two year period the album sees the four piece refine their sound, making it heavier and more ferocious than before while looking to bands such as PRONG, MINISTRY and KILLING JOKE for inspiration. Jaz Coleman (KILLING JOKE) also appears, providing guest vocals on the track 'High Octane Climate Changer'.  Ben Hollyer with his aggressive singing style, talks about religion, the change of our climate, the war... things that destroys our planet and the human race. Titles like High Octane Climate Changer,  Religion? and  Sun That Never Sets talks for themselves. An album not easy to listen, not from the point of the music it contains, but because it is a direct confrontation with everything that is wrong with this world and our responsibility in it.

A great album to listen to. OCTOBER FILE made a really good album that except it's going to make many metal fans to bang their heads, gives  the impulse to think.
